Georgia/South Ossetia: remote areas lack food, proper access to health care In an effort to assess the overall humanitarian situation in rural South Ossetia and to provide assistance, the ICRC recently visited the Akhalgori/Leningori area, mostly populated by ethnic Georgians, and Ossetian villages such as Khetagurovo, Avnevi, Khodabula and Didi Tskhiata.

Georgia/Russian Federation: ICRC continues to assist the most vulnerable Nearly two months after the beginning of the conflict that displaced thousands, people have begun to return to villages north of Gori. The ICRC continues to distribute food and household items to those most in need and inform the population about mines and unexploded ordnance.
Georgia: a busy month for the ICRC in western Georgia Geneva - During August and early September, ICRC delegates and field officers from the sub-delegation in Zugdidi visited the villages of Khurcha and Ganmukhuri almost daily to provide humanitarian assistance.
