Democratic Republic of the Congo: renewed mass displacements
Thousands of people continue to flee fighting in North Kivu. These newly-displaced people and the tens of thousands already displaced have absolutely nothing and are in a desperate situation. Working with the Red Cross Society of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the ICRC is continuing to bring these people the aid they urgently need.

Afghanistan: seeing families through the harsh winter

The worst drought in a decade, soaring food prices and relentless insecurity could force thousands of Afghans from their homes this winter in search of food and work. The ICRC and Afghan Red Crescent Society are working hard to meet the needs of 280,000 people in the northern and north-western provinces. Gaza: responding to urgent medical needs of choked-off Strip
As a result of the closure imposed on the Gaza Strip since 5 November, medical facilities are once more running out of essential supplies. This has dire consequences for the health of the Palestinian population. The Jean-Pictet Competition is a week-long training event on international humanitarian law (IHL) intended for students of law and political science, students at military academies, etc., at undergraduate level or above.
