The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has had a presence in Egypt since the First World War. During the 6th of October War, the ICRC's efforts to alleviate the suffering of people affected by the conflict was a testament to the organization's diligent humanitarian work. The ICRC also played an important role in the repatriation of prisoners of war. Commemorating the 49th anniversary of the 6th of October War, here are some of the activities the ICRC engaged in during the conflict.
