The ICRC's mission in Romania was established to support the humanitarian response to the international armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine. We monitor the humanitarian situation and promote the knowledge and respect of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) with a view to protect lives, preserve dignity and alleviate the suffering of victims of armed conflict, other situations of violence and migration. In partnership with the Romanian Red Cross Society, we seek to restore contact between family members separated by conflict and enhance our emergency-response capabilities as the Red Cross Movement.
